Recently it was reported that a woman in England had 80 bridesmaids, yes 80, to accompany her down the aisle. After asking friends and family members she had 6 bridesmaids, but then her dance students begged her to be apart of the day. So she invited all her students to be her bridesmaids so that no one would feel left out. A little gesture went a long way litterally down the aisle. After reading that article I wondered what was the record for the most bridesmaids in a wedding. I did my research and found that there was a wedding in Bangkok with 95 bridesmaids. Seriously, 95?! I can't even imagine dealing with that many people let alone on my wedding day! It made me think of how many bridesmaids would be the right number for a wedding. I've been to some ridiculous weddings! Brides having 10 or 12 girls line up beside them. They basically asked all the guests to be in their wedding. After reading about the two record setting weddings their weddings weren't so ridiculous.
So back to the appropriate number for a wedding. I think brides need to realize that it's their big day and you don't want to overcrowd it with bridesmaids. Then it hit me thinking about all of this, it really depends on your relationships with your friends and family. If you think you have to have a friend in your wedding then ask them. It's your day and no one can take that away from you. If you want 10, 20 or 80 girls in your wedding you can. Your guests can say what they want about how ridiculous it is, but who cares! If it makes you happy then do it! Your wedding day is supposed to be the happiest day of your life!
This all got me thinking about who I would ask if we're to get married. I think I got a little ridiculous in my head! It's hard to not put someone in your wedding you truly love and has cared about you for years. I think being in a wedding is an honor and if I'm the 20th person to be asked in it, it's still an honor!
Now that you got all your bridesmaids, I want to share with you a few creative ways to ask them to be in your wedding! Pinterest is truly a great help in this area!
++ For all the girls night outs, Cheers to last single hurrah!
++ For the cutesy bride, give your bridesmaid a ring!
++ I just loved this little note to give your bridesmaids to be! You can give this with flowers or champagne!
++ This is so creative and so cute! Just put the question at the end of the ballon! A little unexpected surprise!
++ And for the maid of honor an old school picture of the two of you made into a label for a wine or champagne bottle! Also, could be a great way to ask the bridesmaids!
.....and just think how much you can get done with all those bridesmaids! Everyone to help you with wedding invitations, wedding favors, wedding designs, save the dates, wedding stationery, & so much more!!!
